OpenKids AI

Children's Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026 · Version 2026-06-v1

DRAFT — pending review by children's-privacy counsel before launch.

1. What OpenKids AI is

OpenKids AI is a learning tool: a team of AI coaches that help you learn coding, science, art and more by guiding you — not by doing the work for you. Your coaches are artificial intelligence. They are not real people, and they will always tell you so.

2. House rules

Be kind. Use OpenKids AI for learning and creating. Never share personal information — your full name, address, school, phone number or photos — not even with your coach. Don't try to make the AI break its safety rules; it won't, and your parents can see safety alerts.

3. Your coaches guide — they don't hand over answers

Our coaches teach by asking questions and walking through steps, because that's how learning sticks. If you just want a finished answer to copy, this isn't the tool for that — on purpose.

4. What the AI cannot do

Your coach is not a doctor, a therapist, or a friend, and it can make mistakes — always double-check important facts with a teacher or parent. If you ever feel sad, scared or unsafe, talk to a trusted adult; your coach will always point you to real people who can help.

5. Parents are in charge

For users under 13, a parent or guardian creates and controls the account. Parents can see learning summaries and safety alerts, set time limits, and pause the account. For users 13–18 who signed up themselves, we keep a parent informed by email.

6. Credits

Using coaches consumes Credits, which come from your course, gifts, or top-ups bought by a parent. Credits are not money: they can't be refunded, exchanged for cash, or transferred. Course Credits refresh weekly and don't roll over; purchased Credits last 12 months.

7. Our promises

We filter every message both ways for safety, we don't show ads, we don't sell personal information, and we design everything in this product for children and teens first.

8. Ending or pausing use

A parent can pause or delete a child's account at any time from the parent dashboard. We may suspend accounts that try to abuse the service or endanger other users, and we'll tell the parent when we do.

9. The formal part

The service is provided "as is"; to the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts paid for the service in the previous 12 months. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts. If any clause is found invalid, the rest still applies.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms: support@openkids.ai. A parent or guardian can contact us about any account matter at any time.
