Most education groups keep a portfolio of brands that never actually meet. OpenKids runs a competition where its brands share one stage. The ART TECH Creative Competition is jointly organised by TreeArt, Futurum Academy and GaiaX — the creative-arts, STEAM and admissions brands of the ecosystem — and it is the single clearest piece of evidence that these brands operate as one system rather than a logo collection.
2026: Future Nostalgia
The 2026 edition carries the theme “Future Nostalgia: Regenerating Memories,” under a working idea of “Pre-loved, Re-loved” — children make new work from discarded and recycled materials, giving old objects new value. It is a deliberately cross-disciplinary brief: sustainability as a subject, art and engineering as the two languages for answering it.
Two categories, one age ladder
The competition splits into an Art category and a Technology category, each banded by age — art from 4, technology from 6, both running to 18. A child in the OpenKids journey can therefore enter on the art track one year and the technology track the next, on the same shared record. Art entries are A3, 2D or 3D, any medium; technology entries cover model-building, 3D printing and eco-material construction.
- Art category — Group A ages 4–6, Group B 7–12, Group C 13–18.
- Technology category — Group A ages 6–9, Group B 10–12, Group C 13–18.
- 2026 Singapore winners' exhibition: 24–26 July at United Square Mall, with on-site installations 3–9 August.
Why a shared competition matters to a parent
A single competition run by three brands means a child's art teacher, robotics coach and admissions mentor are already reading from the same page — the same standards, the same calendar, the same record. That is the whole OpenKids thesis in one event: one journey, not four separate enrolments. The competition is where the promise stops being a diagram and becomes a room full of children's work.
